Oakdale youth sports have been rapidly growing in the Cowboy Capital of the World as of late. The newest to join the community is Oakdale Upward Sports. The non-profit Upward Sports organization was established in 1995 and has helped shape young athletes both on and off the field nationwide. This will be the first season Upward flag football has been played in Oakdale. Life Point Church of Oakdale has brought Upward Sports to town and the inaugural season kickoff is scheduled on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Sierra View Elementary School.

With the season rapidly approaching, it is not too late to register players for the flag football season. Registration is $110 per player with a $10 sibling discount available. It is a seven-week season and is for players in first through sixth grades. The first day of practice is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 21 and all practices are scheduled for Sierra View Elementary School.
