Schedules have been set and sports teams are practicing, as school resumes this week and the fall sports season gets underway at Oakdale High School.
Friday, Aug. 12 will see the kickoff for Mustang football, as the teams travel to Tracy for a scrimmage. All three levels will be on the road, with a start time of 5 p.m. for the JV and freshmen, while the varsity scrimmage begins at 7 p.m.
Sonora will be the opponent for the freshmen, at home, on Thursday, Aug. 18 while the JV and varsity travel to Sonora to face off with the Wildcats on Friday, Aug. 16.
First home game for the JV and varsity will be Friday, Aug. 26 when Aptos comes to town. The freshmen will visit Hughson the day before, Thursday, Aug. 25.
On the volleyball court, the traditional GEBO scrimmage will be hosted at Golden Valley on Saturday, Aug. 13 followed by a scrimmage at Waterford on Thursday, Aug. 18. The Foundation Game – varsity only – will be played in Turlock on Monday, Aug. 22.
Water Polo kicks off by hosting Lincoln on Thursday, Sept. 1 and then will make the short trip to Modesto for scrimmages at Johansen on Saturday, Sept. 3 and Monday, Sept. 5.
The golf girls have some preseason scrimmages set for Aug. 16 and 18 and the first VOL meet of the season will be at Oakdale Golf and Country Club on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Cross country attends the Jaguar Invitational in Tracy on Sept. 1 and the Josh Ruff Invitational in Folsom on Sept. 10 for their preseason action.
