Air Quality Impacts Stampede Opening Week

The season opener for the Oakdale Stampede youth football team was placed on hold this past weekend. Due to poor air quality Oakdale’s game against the Turlock Pride was canceled. No makeup date for the game has been announced.

Oakdale is currently scheduled to host Merced on Saturday, Sept. 4. Stampede is made up of Rookie, Pee Wee, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. All home games are played at Oakdale High School starting with the rookies taking the field at 1 p.m. Varsity completes the busy Saturday schedule when they take the field at 7 p.m. Stampede plays in the AFC in the CenCal Youth Football League.
