Editors Notebook - Changes For The Better Slated In 2012

As we ease in to the New Year, some changes ‘are afoot’ for The Oakdale Leader and its companion papers, The Escalon Times and The Riverbank News.
In this issue of The Leader, for instance, you can find the first of a three-part series focusing on a long-established local institution, the Oakdale Saddle Club. The first installment can be found on Page B1 this week, with additional installments to follow over the next few weeks.
Other series will be upcoming, as we look to provide some in depth coverage and unique angles on familiar businesses and organizations.
Also, in a new commitment to health and fitness, a monthly feature will highlight that effort (Page A14) and we will offer columns from local health educators, question and answer sessions with personal trainers, tips for healthy living and more.
It’s all part of the goal to meet readers’ needs and expectations. We also welcome suggestions from our subscribers and readers; let us know if there’s something you’d like to see in the pages of your newspaper.
As we move forward in 2012, we want to hear from you. Contact us at 847-3021 or news@oakdaleleader.com to offer story tips, suggestions or ideas for features.
