Dear Editor,

Regarding the possible closing of the Oak Valley Hospital OBGYN Unit. Did the pro closing CEO and hospital board members consider the potential loss of other business should the OBGYN unit be closed? By sending patients to other multidisciplinary health care facilities for OBGYN care, should those patients have a positive experience, wouldn’t it be likely that those patients would utilize that other facility should they need other non OBGYN related procedures or health care? If Oak Valley Hospital stops delivering babies, they might also stop doing as many hernia repairs, gall bladder and appendix removals and other surgical and nonsurgical procedures.
