Dear Editor,

I would like to thank everyone who participated in last month’s National Night Out. National Night Out began in 1984 as a part of the National Association of Town Watch. It is held on the first Tuesday of every August and has grown to more than 40 million participants nationwide. This was the ninth National Night out for Oakdale and although our total numbers were down a bit, we still had several neighborhoods in and around Oakdale that got together to “Take back our streets from crime and drugs.”
