Peddlers Faire Success

Dear Editor,

The Knights Ferry Peddlers Faire was a huge success again this year due to many volunteers who gave of their time to add funds to the Knights Ferry Museum. Our goal is to preserve the history of this gold rush community, which was the county seat of Stanislaus County from 1861-1871.

Our County Sheriff’s Department is important to our continued safety at family events such as this. The mounted patrol division is very popular with children. The parking is under the direction of E Clampus Vitus members. We had some wonderful vendors again this year.

The Oakdale Leader provided a story about the Faire, which informed many visitors about a local annual event, which is free to the public.

Thank you to everyone who helped — especially the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for again allowing us the use of their park for the day.

Sincerely,

Carol Davis
