Hospital Earns High Marks

Dear Editor,

I received a kidney transplant at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento on January 2, 2013.

Upon coming home, it was diagnosed that I had an e-coli infection, and I was admitted to Oak Valley Hospital. Was I in for a surprise! It was immaculately clean and the nursing staff was wonderful, kind and proficient.

The Dietician, Diane Alcorn, was superb! I have never had such great hospital food. I am a very picky eater and she worked around that and she and her staff prepared delicious meals that I enjoyed very much.

Dr. Chet Mahida went out of his way to help me during my stay.

P.A. Jim Vermeulen has really saved my life more than once. He is always very thoughtful, thorough and caring. We wish him the best with his upcoming surgery in San Francisco.
