Dear Editor,

Vote YES on Oakdale’s Measure Y to extend the current ‘local’ half-cent sales tax. This is not a new tax, merely an extension an existing ‘local’ sales tax.

The ‘local’ sales tax means that 100 percent of the money collected in Oakdale stays in Oakdale. A majority of it going towards public safety, with a small portion for quality of life items like: the Oakdale senior center, community center, street sweeping and street lighting.

So keep Oakdale going, keep the half-cent ‘local’ sales tax.

Vote YES on Measure Y.

Why, because we love Oakdale and take care of our own!
