Dear Editor,

Regarding Larry Kay’s letter to the editor on Sept. 15, “Study Both Candidates,” Mr. Kay you need to get your facts straight and not put out false information. I was at a recent City Council meeting when the subject of contracting out Policing Services came up from an audience member. I personally heard Mayor Farrell Jackson state that he was not interested in doing that at all. Mayor Jackson further stated he felt it was in Oakdale’s best interest to have our own Police Department. It’s very clear where Mayor Jackson is on this issue. He does not support contracting out policing services to the County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Kay, engage the clutch before you put it in gear and let’s deal with facts not fiction.
