Sylvia was born to Chester and Inez Christian in Sarcoxie, Missouri where she grew up. Sylvia moved to California when she was 16, here she met George Taliaferro and married two years later at the age of 18. They were married for 58 years. Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, George.
She is survived by her six children: Daniel, Jonathan, Mike, Phinney, Virginia, and Susan Taliaferro; 10 grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral Ceremony will be held Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 W. F St., Oakdale, CA 95361.
