Samantha Leigh Ann Hunter, 21, left too soon August 5th, 2016. Sami was born on May 9th 1995 at Oak Valley Hospital in Oakdale CA to John and Khris Hunter. Graduated from Rosamond High School. She proudly served in the United States Navy and was Honorably Discharged, stationed on the U.S.S. Wasp where she worked in Aviation Support at Norfolk Virginia. A true nature lover, she loved the land and all animals it contained. Family camping trips, hikes in the Sierras with her father came in second only to her love of the beach, any beach would do but Santa Cruz and Galveston held a special place in her heart. Not many girls are comfortable around spiders but she would name any spider she found in the house and make sure they found safe passage outside. She loved animals, especially her pets and would ensure they were taken care of, even before herself. Her good nature, supportive and quirky disposition (she was a Star Wars junkie) touched a great number of people reaching from Oakdale to the far corners of the Earth through her many hometown and Navy friendships. Let us all wish her fair winds and following seas.

She is survived by: Parents John and Khris Hunter; Brother Jonathan Hunter; and Sisters Maggie Sanchez (Nicholas Sanchez) and Jordan Lewis (Joey Lewis); Niece Annica Faith Sanchez; Nephew Casey John Lewis; Grandparents Edith Parker (Robert Parker) and Dorothy Hunter; Great Grandmother Florence Green; Grandfather Max Sawtelle. Uncles and Aunts: John Fowler (Brenda); Anji Moon; Desiree Fowler; Karen Cronauer (Jack); Steve Hunter (Vana); Kenny Hunter (Teresa); Tommy Hunter; Steve Green (Patricia and Kassidy); Adelle Seaton (Chuck and Tony); William Null.
