SALVADOR GARCIA JR.
March 24, 1943 Oct. 6, 2016
Salvador Garcia K

A beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother went home to Jesus on October 6, 2016. He was 73 years old and spent his last 10 years of life in Oakdale, CA. Though his earthly body was weak with various illnesses, he was made strong with much love for God, family, and friends. He was born in McAllen Texas on March 24, 1943, son of the late Salvador Garcia Sr. and Francisca Flores Garcia. He married his beloved wife, Lydia on August 21, 1963 who went to be with the Lord on Nov. 7, 1999.
Salvador is survived by his daughter Lorena Morris (William), son Salvador Garcia III (Misty), and daughter Leonor Sanchez (Joaquin), 12 beautiful grandchildren and two great grandchildren, his older sister Diamantina Aguilar, and his younger brothers Rigoberto Garcia (Alicia), Alfredo Garcia (Felicitas) and Wilfredo Garcia (Mary), and many wonderful nephews and nieces. Salvador is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, his brothers Antonio Garcia, Gavino Garcia, and his sister Uldarica DeLeon. He raised his family in Tulare and Terra Bella, CA and retired as a truck driver after experiencing a stroke. He moved to Oakdale, CA in 2006 to be close to family. The move was difficult at first, but he eventually called Oakdale home. What brought him much joy in Oakdale was spending time with family, having family and friends visit him, spending time with friends at the Oakdale Senior Center and at River Paradise Mobile Estates, going to church, and being out and about the community on his scooter.
The only sadness he would mention was not having his wife here with him to enjoy and share his Oakdale happiness. His family is confident that he is overflowing with joy right now as they are together with Jesus. Services will be held at Myers Chapel in Porterville, CA. Viewing will be on October 16th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and the memorial service will be on October 17th from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Committal service to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Porterville, CA. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to the Gladys L. Lemmons Senior Community Center of Oakdale in remembrance of Salvador. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
