Robert (Bob) McCloud, 90, of Oakdale died Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Hospice House. He suffered from Parkinson’s Disease for many years besides other illnesses.
Born on July 4, 1922, he came to California from Georgia as a young man and married Betty Ann Sears. He worked in the shipyards, a painter, had an auto wrecking business, scrap iron dealer, commercial fisherman and rancher.
He was an avid hunter, thoroughly enjoyed boating and fishing, enjoyed his fruit trees and vegetable gardens. He couldn’t resist yard sales and flea markets but treasured it all.
Bob and wife Betty moved from Hayward and have been long time residents of Oakdale, where she still resides.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; sons and their wives, Jack and Cheryl McCloud of Nevada City, CA, Robert and Kate McCloud of Fernley, NV; grandchildren Shaun (Faith) McCloud of Grass Valley, CA, Elaine McCloud of Virginia, Jason (Shaney) McCloud of Fernley, NV and Patrick McCloud of Fernley, NV; great grandchildren, Micah and Silas McCloud of Grass Valley, Alan McCloud and Andrew McCloud of Fernley, NV; and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Hattie McLeod; older sisters Ruby and Mary; and younger brother Joe McLeod of Georgia.
There will be no services by request, a private memorial with family only.
