Richard Ray Hayes, 63, passed peacefully in his sleep at his home. He joined his parents Colman and Wanda Hayes, Glenda and Jeri Herring, his brother Larry Hayes and his sister Betty Jo Hayes. He leaves many family members including his two sons: Kenneth and Brian Herring, and nieces and nephews Amy and Larry Hayes, Melissa, Andrew and Dylan Hayes, Autumn and Brandy Hayes.

RICHARD WAS THE BEST. He was well known for his mechanical ingenuities that were only part of his innumerable, highly diverse skills and talents. Those close to him will remember his passion for sharing talents, his favorites being working on motorcycles and playing guitar. He was a teacher and the best friend you could ever ask for. He will be very missed and never forgotten. A potluck luncheon Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 2 at 12 p.m. at Kerr Park in Oakdale, 840 Stearns Road.
