Richard, 81, died Tuesday, June 13 surrounded by his wife Janie and his children Rick and Nancey. Richard was born in La Puente, CA on March 30, 1942 to Harold and Wilma (Null) Roberts. Richard was one of six siblings Jerry (Judy), Nancy (Guy), Bill (Joan), Bob, Tim (JoAnne). The family moved to Oakdale in 1950 where most of the siblings continue to reside.

Richard attended area schools and graduated from Oakdale High School in 1960. He went on to work as an Electrician, General Contractor, and retired from the City of Stockton after working as a Building Inspector. Richard married Pauline Mendes in 1966. Together they had two children Rick and Nancey. Richard built a beautiful home for his family that they continue to enjoy. Richard and Pauline were married for 16 years.

In 2007 Richard married Janie Keir; together they lived on his ranch working on several projects and gardening. They enjoyed traveling the US and took many trips abroad. Richard was a member of the Oakdale National Guards for approximately 16 years. He was on a local softball team “Foothill Flyers” for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, cycling, gardening, “Roberts Family” camping trips, working on his ranch and traveling with his wife.

He is survived by his wife Janie, children Rick Roberts (Bethany) and Nancey Roberts Devengenzo (Mike). Grandkids; Kendra Silvas (Bert), Lauren Major (Dante), Michael Devengenzo (Emily), Matt Devengenzo (Taylor). Great Grandkids; Ethan, Maddie, Lainey, Bailey, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, June 28 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 1111 East A Street Oakdale, CA. (All denominations/Public welcome to attend.) Remembrances may be made in his name to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95356.
