Refugio E. Valverde

Refugio E. Valverde, 93, died Thursday, Jan. 17 of natural causes at Alexander Cohen Hospice House, Hughson, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Vallecito, NM and moved to Oakdale in 1945.

He joined the CC Camp at an early age and retired from Hershey’s after 25 years.

Mr. Valverde enjoyed fishing camping and sports.

He is survived by his children, Dorothy Adler, Gloria Wyrick, Annie Henson, Tresa Valverde, Anthony Valverde, Ron Valverde, Ralph Valverde; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Theresa E. Valverde; and numerous brothers and sisters.

A viewing will be held from 4p.m. to 8p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West F St. A graveside service will be at 10a.m. on Friday, Jan. 25 at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery, 701 East J St.
