Oliver George Andrews, 82, died Wednesday, Aug. 29.

He was born in Chadwick, Mo. He moved from Missouri to Ceres in April of 1950. Later that same year, he married the love of his life, Mary Marie Wright.

Mr. Andrews didn’t have a college education, but worked very hard providing for his family. He taught himself the electrician and plumber trade, and ultimately received his journeyman card. He worked in the swimming pool industry and co-owned Crystal Pool Service. He later worked for Sparkling Pool Service, building pools for many years until he retired in 1972.

He was loved by many, had a great sense of humor, and loved the Lord. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening in the family garden, wood working, freshwater fishing, and bowling.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Marie Andrews; children, Gwen A. Fielder of Hilmar, Jonathan Oliver Andrews of Modesto; brother, Bedford F. Andrews of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Flossie Andrews; brothers, Herbert and Elmer Andrews; sisters, Nola Dietrich and Opal Hilton.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wed, Sept. 5 at Allen Mortuary, Turlock. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.

Remembrances may be made in his name to Community Hospice or N.A.M.I. of Stanislaus.
