Mary Katherine (Beltrami) Hass, 88, died Friday, May 7 at Kaiser Hospital, Roseville.She was a native of Oakdale. During the post World War II period, the Hass family lived in Oakdale (Vets’ Villa), Stockton, and Rio Vista before settling down on Magnolia Avenue in Oakdale. She was a graduate of Oakdale High School, class of 1940. She lived in Oakdale until moving to Sacramento in 1952. There were additional moves to Bakersfield and back to Sacramento, where she spent the rest of her life.She was an alumna of Sacramento State University, where she received her B.A. degree and teaching credential. She retired from the North Sacramento School District, where she taught at Ben Ali and other elementary schools.Mrs. Hass loved to travel. She and her husband traveled throughout the U.S. After her children were grown, she and her husband Claude also traveled to Europe, Australia, and Asia. She enjoyed shopping for bargains. She would bargain shop with her friend in Sacramento and Bakersfield.She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Hass of Sacramento; son, Rodney (Karen) Hass of Magalia; brother, Alvin (Marie) Beltrami of Oakdale; sister-in-laws, Wanda Beltrami of Oakdale and Patricia Hass of Modesto; and many loving nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Claude Hass; her parents, Marcello and Lina Beltrami of Oakdale; and brother, James Beltrami of Oakdale.There will be a gathering of family and friends at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7 at Ryderz Restaurant, 875 East F, Oakdale where a luncheon buffet will be provided. A private burial was held May 14 at East Lawn Sierra Hills Cemetery, Citrus Heights.Remembrances may be made in her name to the Alzheimers Association, 225 N.
