Mark Steven Butcher, 55, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 in Hughson.

He was born on July 27, 1959 in Fullerton, CA. He resided in Sun Valley until the age of 15 when he relocated to Oakdale with his parents and sister. He lived in Oakdale for 40 years. He was a graduate of Oakdale High School and retired from the City of Oakdale after 25 years of service. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, the History and NASA channels. He also enjoyed long scenic drives and trips to the ocean. He was a loving and devoted grandfather and family man.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Angela Butcher; son, Michael (Tiffani) Goad; stepsons, Joshua Miller and Eric Miller; parents, Cleo and Irene Butcher; sisters, Janet (John) Palmer, Sandy (Mark) Ichord, Linda (Ron) Doerge and Susan Butcher; grandchildren Dylan Goad and Makenzie Goad; four nephews, one niece, two great-nephews and two great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by Dan Daly and nephew Jeremy Palmer.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. at the Gladys L. Lemmons Senior Community Center, 450 E. A. St, Oakdale.
