God called Midge home on July 23rd at her home in Oakdale and into the arms of her loving Savior. Midge was born in Alluwe, Oklahoma to the late Oliver Perry and Pearl Marie Skinner. Eventually Midge would attend Pacific Bible College in Portland, OR where she met her husband Myrle Shaw. They raised their children in Hayward and Castro Valley, CA before retiring to Oakdale in 1993. She was preceded in death by two young sons David and Richard as well as granddaughter Madison. Midge is survived by her husband of 63 years Myrle, and children: Kari (Doug) Webster, Steve (Kathi) Shaw, MariAn (Jack) Lippa, Karla Shaw, and Kelly Shaw plus 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Midge’s focus was always her family and church; along with a passion for cooking, gardening, and a love of reading. She was a talented musician on any instrument she tried and enjoyed knitting and crocheting for her family.
A memorial service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 13th at 11 a.m. at River Oak Grace Church in Oakdale. Donations may be made in Midge’s name to the Modesto Pregnancy Center at 2801 Coffee Road, Suite A5 Modesto, CA 95355.
