Larry Kent Hardy, 67, died Sunday, Jan. 5 of brain cancer at Alexander Cohen Hospice House.

He was born in Richland Center, Wis. and lived in Oakdale for 13 years.

He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse and was an avid distance runner in high school and college. He held a national Scrutineer license for the Sports Car Club of America. He was also a long distance motorcycle rider.

Mr. Hardy was a human resources safety officer by profession.

He is survived by his children, Lacey Hardy, Lucas Hardy; mother, Lucille Hardy of Richland Center, Wis.; brother, Lanny (Lorraine) Hardy of Placerville; aunt, Shirley Keller of Richland Center, Wis.; four nephews; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin LaVern Hardy; and sister, Linda Kay Hardy.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 at Sierra Foothills Community Church, 1040 West F St., Oakdale. Interment will be in Richland Center, Wis.

The Neptune Society in charge of arrangements.
