Kathleen Marie Peixoto, daughter of David and Colleen Peixoto, passed away on October 23 in Sacramento at the age of 68 after complications arising from a cerebral procedure. Kathy was born in Alameda County in 1953 and was a proud and active graduate of Newark High School. She would eventually study Clinical Trial Management at UC Santa Cruz en route to becoming a Research Project Manager at UC Berkeley.
Kathy had always been concerned with political issues and she was a lifelong dog lover. In her later years, she found great camaraderie and joy in these interests. She was passionately involved in local political groups and in raising her champion show dog, Betty.
Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Donny Lemos earlier this year. She leaves behind her two sons, Michael and Joshua, her two grandchildren, Bobby and Abby, her sister Carleen, and her beloved mother-in-law, Margie, as well as numerous cousins and lifelong friends.
A funeral mass will be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church in Castro Valley on Monday, November 22 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. Directions and further information can be found at transfigchurch.com.
