Julie Van Hoy, 49, of Oakdale died Sunday, Feb. 24.

She was born in Oakdale to June Gaither and Clint Truhett.

Ms. Van Hoy worked for the City of Oakdale, the Oakdale Fire Department, Jiffy Lube, and she had her own housekeeping business.

She was a special person who was beautiful inside and out and had such a beautiful smile that she’d light up a room when she walked in. She was easy to love and will be missed very much by her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Brandy McKinsey, Ricky Chavez, Billy Robison; mother, June Gaither; father, Clint Truhett; brothers, Andy (Carla) Truhett, Scott (Linda) Truhett; grandchildren, Alex, Rickey, and Nicky Chavez; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; uncle, Robert; and stepfather, Orval Gaither.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27 at River Oak Grace Church, 7712 Rodden Road, Oakdale.

Remembrances may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society or Community Hospice.
