Jacqueline Foster K

Jacqueline Carol (Evans) Foster of Oakdale was received by the Lord on August 24, 2016, with family at her bedside. She was born November 26, 1925, in Oakland, California to Albert and Elsie Evans. Jackie and her family moved to Hayward when she was five years old. She attended Fairview School, Bret Harte Middle School and Hayward High, where she met her future husband, Raymond Keith Foster. Jackie and Ray were married November 25, 1944, while Ray was on leave from the Marine Corps during WWII. They lived on Kelly Hill in Hayward for 54 years, where they raised their three children in the house they built. Jackie enjoyed working at Knigge Tack Shop for several years while she and Ray showed their horses in Palomino and Open Halter classes. She had a lifelong love of animals, especially dogs, cats and horses, and was an avid reader of mystery, crime and adventure stories. She loved to go on cruises with family and friends, and she never turned down a chance to play slots at the casino. An excellent cook, she loved to entertain and prepare special dishes for family and friends. Jackie and Ray moved to Oakdale in 1998, sharing 64 years of marriage until his passing in 2008.
Jackie is survived by her children - Randall Foster of Carmichael and his wife, Debbie; Reyanne Sponsel of Oakdale and her husband, Jim; and Ronnette Dean of Prunedale and her husband, Joe. She will also be missed by her seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter, ASPCA or charity of your choice.
Friends and relatives are invited to a Celebration of Life on October 16, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Robert Livermore Community Center, Larkspur Room, 4444 East Avenue, Livermore.
