Hazel Esther Maxwell, 84, of Modesto died Thursday, Aug. 12 at Memorial Medical Center.

She was a native of Colorado and lived in the Oakdale-Modesto area for 60 years.

Mrs. Maxwell was an LVN for 10 years.

She had been a member of the Practical Nurse’s Association.

She is survived by her children, Delmer McCardia of Oakdale, Glenda Friel of Oakdale, Eldon Maxwell of Modesto, Andy Bergman of Waterford, Carol Susan Mesellis of Turlock; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her children, Verlyn Bergman and John Bergman.

Visitation was held Aug. 17. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel.
