Harry Eugene ‘Gene’ Frisk, 75, of Oxly, MO died Thursday, April 29 at John J. Pershing VA Hospital in Poplar Bluff, MO.

He was born in Marionthal, KS, to Harry and Mary (Gosvenor) Frisk. The family lived in California and he attended Oakdale schools and graduated from Oakdale High School in 1952. He was a resident of Valley Home until he moved out of state in the mid-1970s.

Mr. Frisk served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and U.S.S. Shangri-la Association.

He married Inez Adams in 1984 in Carson City, NV.

He retired as a self-employed builder and real estate agent, dairyman, and farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Inez; sons, Phillip Frisk of Doniphan, MO, Rocky Frisk and Daniel Wyrick, both of Oxly, MO, Jason Frisk of Amarillo, TX, Micheal Wyrick of Atkins, AR; daughter, Carmen Zamastil of Fairdealing, MO; sisters, Beatrice Miller, Berniece Smith, Genevieve Turnham, Geneva Obermyer, Fairy Hale, Fern Rowley, Janet Frisk; brother, Vern Frisk, all of California; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Several family members still live in Oakdale and Riverbank.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Merle Frisk; and son, Timothy Wyrick.

Funeral services were held May 4 at Edwards Funeral Home, Inc., with a graveside service held later that day at Old Swedish Cemetery in Mountain Grove, MO with full military honors.
