Gerald Lee Coutinho, 80, of Oakdale died Sunday, May 12.

Born on July 26, 1932 and raised in San Jose, he resided in Oakdale for the last 13 years.

He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1954 and was a Korean War Veteran.

He worked for the United States Postal Service for 37 years and retired as Postmaster from San Martin, CA in 1989. He was a diehard San Francisco 49er fan, who never missed a game along with his family. He also enjoyed RC Planes, gardening and going to the casino.

Survivors include his son Bruce Coutinho; daughter, Tammy (Ray) Hanson; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Nicole; sister, Yvonne Filippone; and brother, Richard Coutinho.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ruth.

Service will be held Thursday, May 16 at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
