Floretta Viola Bieker, 89, of Oakdale, died Monday, Jan. 28 after a long battle with Alzheimers at Oak Valley Hospital.

She was born in Combs, Ark. to the late Esther Porter and William E. Ivy.

She had many interests, including playing Scrabble with her grandkids, watching classic movies, especially those with Robert Redford or Julie Andrews, writing poetry, and telling stories of the many adventures from her life.

Ms. Bieker had a great love for Yosemite, where she volunteered for several years.

She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

She is survived by her sons, Eddie and Steve; brothers; Carl and Les; sisters, Jimmie and Esther; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Barry Hance; and brother, Charles Porter.

A private memorial gathering will be held in Oakdale, contact Eddie Garcia for information.
