Eva Marie Raduechel Mack, 95, died Thursday, June 13 in Oakdale.
She was born in Wisconsin, but grew up mostly in the Oakdale area and made many lifelong friends. She truly valued those friendships and managed to keep in touch with many of them. After graduation from Oakdale High School in 1936, she put herself through school and became a cosmetologist.
She owned Oakdale Beauty Salon on Third Avenue in Oakdale from 1938 to 1943. She joined the Navy in March 1945 through April 1946. She then worked in a salon in San Jose where she met her future husband Adam, who passed away in January 2004.
Mrs. Mack was an active member of St. Mary’s Church and the YLI for many years. She was also a teacher’s aide for several years in the Oakdale elementary schools.
She was a very thoughtful person, ever concerned about her children, family and friends. She had the most beautiful smile and personality. She will be missed very much.
She decided to live at a care home for most of her last few years. She was surrounded by her family and many loving caregivers while there. She was very thankful for all the kindness and help she received there.
She is survived by her daughter, Madlyn Herrmann; sons, Mike (Sheryl) Mack, Jim (Patti) Mack; grandchildren, Benjamin and Lukas Herrmann, Kelly Mack and Jon Mack, Katlyn Hamer, Rebekah Conrad, Christian Conrad, Audrey and Dylan Mack; great grandchildren, Sophia and Ain Stoehr and Mykenzie and Cainan Mack; two nephews; and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam; son, David Mack; and daughter, Evon Mack Conrad.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 27 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, also at the church.
