Earl L. Maddox passed away on his birthday, December 4, after a short battle with Cancer. Born in Modesto on December 4, 1935 to Clara Gammons Maddox and Tilford Maddox, Earl attended elementary school in Waterford, High School in Oakdale and college at UC Davis. He served in the US Army after college where he made false teeth and played volleyball. Earl married Dorothy Zaro in 1960, and they spent 56 years together. Fifty year residents, Earl and Dorothy moved to Pleasanton in 1966 where Earl owned Pleasanton Shell for many years. His favorite past time was playing poker. He played poker with three groups of friends, on video, in card rooms and with his family and grandchildren. He is remembered for his integrity and his sense of humor especially his corny jokes. Earl is survived by his loving family, wife Dorothy Maddox of Pleasanton, children Bruce Maddox and wife Mia of Folsom, Teresa Maddox Trowbridge and husband Todd of Los Altos and Mark Maddox and wife Rene of Livermore, grandchildren Ryan, Nick, Mark, Jessica, Brandon, and brother Clark Maddox of Battle Creek, MI. The family is having a private burial in Oakdale.
