Donald Ray Peterson passed from this life May 28, 2015 after a battle with cancer. He passed quietly with his longtime partner Lydia Montoya by his side. He was 80 years old.
Don was born in Visalia, California then came to the Oakdale area as a child. Attended Oakdale High, Resided in Knights Ferry, Oakdale & then lived in the Escalon area for the remainder of his life.
Don was a welder by trade. He worked many years for Van Pelts building fire trucks. Also Vaughn’s trucking, Freita’s trucking, and Hummer trucking. During this time he furthered his skills by attaining a certification in aluminum welding, as he began to see that area advance. Don was quite accomplished in his skills.
In later years he worked for HI-Tech Fire Trucks delivering their fire trucks around the United States.
He enjoyed meeting at one of the local pubs in Oakdale and swapping stories. Many of those who know Don also heard some tales. As he grew into his senior years he eased into a quiet life. Spending time with his family and time spent with his partner Lydia. May his soul find everlasting peace and beauties with Heavens Angels . He will be missed! Don was preceded in death by his Mother- Adeline Savage, Step Father- Morton Rose, His Father-Paul Peterson, Brothers Ralph Peterson, Herald (Bud) Peterson, Norman (Dude) Peterson, and Jerry Peterson. He is survived by his Sister- Marylin Mabry and his children-Tim Peterson, Donny Peterson, Treasa Izquierdo, Tami Weslow, Sondra Ott, Carla Doshas, Sherry Perretta, And Partner Lydia Montoya.
A grave side service will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery - 17201 Cemetery Rd. Knights Ferry Ca. On June 27th at 11:AM
