Debra Repayo, 59, died Tuesday, July 3 after a long illness.
She was born in Oakdale to Lumin and Gloria Repayo and lived most of her life in Stanislaus County.
After graduating from Oakdale High School with the class of 1971, she joined the United States Navy and was stationed in Maryland and Florida. She remained in active service until her honorary discharge in 1976.
Ms. Repayo then returned to Oakdale and held various jobs but she used her knowledge of nursing to care for her parents on the family farm until they passed. In 2005 she and her husband moved to Klamath Falls, Ore. where she was active with the Veterans Administration until her passing.
She is survived by her husband, David Montero of Klamath Falls, Ore.; sons, Patrick Hannagan of Modesto, Sean Hannagan of Modesto, David Montero Jr. of Nebraska, Scott Woods of Santa Cruz; and six grandchildren, Katelyn, Lilly, Alyson, Daymond, Trenton and Riley.
A Memorial Mass will be held at noon on Friday, July 13 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1225 Olive Ave., Oakdale. Her family invites all who knew her at any time in her life to attend and share their memories with the family.
