Darald Dean Brake went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2016 at his home in Oakdale at the age of 73. Darald was born on December 10, 1942 to John and Marjorie Brake in Lindsay, California, but was raised in Ivanhoe and went to Redwood High School. He settled in Oakdale and has lived there for the past several years. Darald began working with his father farming and driving the tractor at the age of 7 and never stopped working. He loved his career in telecommunications field for more than 55 years. Out of high school, Darald enlisted in the Air Force at 18 and served in the Vietnam War. His service to his country was of great importance to him. Darald was a lifelong Christian, his faith and service to the Lord was his top priority.

He enjoyed traveling in his RV, loved riding his horses, fishing and studying ancestry and always wanted to get another Model T which was his first car. Above all else, Darald was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, loved his family who will forever be missed. Darald leaves behind his wife of nearly 48 years, Betty Brake, his daughter, LaDonna J McKim and his grandson, Crodell J McKim. Darald also leaves behind his sister, Mary Lou Fespermen. Darald is preceded in death by his siblings, Beverly Jennings, Marlene Elmore, and John Dale Brake.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapel. A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 12 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church in Oakdale with graveside services to follow at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon.
