Our beloved DAD, “CECIL” ... OAKDALE’S #1 MUSTANG FAN, has passed.
Cecil was born in Capay, California. He was raised in Knights Ferry, where his father and uncles herded sheep. He attended school in Knights Ferry and Oakdale High where he became an Oakdale Mustang. He supported Oakdale sports his entire life. He dearly loved his Mustang Football and Baseball Teams. Dad’s other love was FISHING ... He loved fishing anytime and anyplace. His favorite places were Alaska, Canada, and San Carlos, Mexico.
Dad served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was stationed in Guam. He devoted 28 years to military service. After active duty he joined the Oakdale National Guard and achieved the rank of Captain and ultimately Commanding Officer of the Oakdale Unit for many years. He then transferred to Sacramento as a Major.
Dad was preceded in death by his wife, Edie Muniain, his “Dolly.” His mother Victoria, and his Pop, Benardino. His brothers, Joe, Paul and sisters, Marcelina, Balvina, and granddaughter, Salena. Dad is survived by his five children: Cecilia, Penny, Judy, Ben, and Paul. His sister, Juanita (Archie) and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his wife Georgina.
Our father loved Oakdale. He was a businessman his entire life. He and brother Joe had the Chevron Service Station many years and then also K&M Liquors. Our father served on School Boards, Lions Club, a founding member of Oakdale Golf and Country Club, Oakdale Quarterback Club, and Oakdale High Sports Boosters Club. At Dad’s request: Cremation.
