Betty Jean Rogers, 87, died peacefully on Friday, May 17 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House.

She was born in Leavittsburg, Ohio, one of 11 children born to Charles and Clara Ulrich. The family moved to Pittsburg, Calif. after her father found employment there.

She moved to Pittsburg in 1948 where she met and fell in love with her soul mate and one true love, Robert Rogers Jr. They were married on Sept. 17, 1949. They moved to Antioch in 1954 and raised two daughters there.

Mrs. Rogers worked for Sears for 15 years before retiring in 1979. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Knights Ferry, where she worked for 15 years in the post office.

She is survived by her daughters, Robin (Jim) McCoy of Idaho, Sally (Rocky) Goehring of Knights Ferry; brother, Ed ‘Fritz’ Ulrich of Concord; grandchildren, Bobby McCoy of Colorado, Danny (Jamie) McCoy of Vallejo, Taryn (Brian) Perry of Turlock, Zachary Goehring of Oakdale; and great-grandson, Gage Thomas Perry of Turlock.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Bob; parents, Charles and Clara Ulrich; brothers, Donald, Daniel, Allan, Archie Charles, and John Ulrich; sisters, Margaret Starbuck, Anna Hoagland, Juanita Haskell, and Georgianna ‘Gidge’ Alves.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 25 at the Oakdale Memorial Chapel, with internment at Knights Ferry Cemetery.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Alexander Cohen Hospice House for their incredible care and kindness during this difficult time.
