Barbara Jean Wilson, 79, died Sunday, Nov. 17 at Alexander Cohen Hospice House, Hughson, after a long battle with cancer.

She grew up in Monterey Park. She moved to Oakdale in 1964 where she raised her family. She was a long time resident of Oakdale.

Mrs. Wilson worked at the Hershey factory in Oakdale for 29 years. She was the customer service manager from 1965-95. After retiring in 1995, she spent time traveling with her husband. She volunteered at Oak Valley Hospital Auxiliary in the gift shop and worked with the community share program. She also belonged to Beta Sigma Phi and enjoyed working with the Chamber of Commerce at the Chocolate Festival.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling with her husband and collecting antiques, and volunteering for her community.

The family would like to thank the Hospice House for her care. She was very loved and will be missed.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Loren Wilson; sons, Patrick Wilson of Stockton, Michael Wilson of Sonora, Tim Wilson of Reno; daughter-in-law, Tammera Wilson; grandchildren, Andrew, Curtis, Russel, Tim Jr., Tanya; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West F St., Oakdale. A graveside service will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at Oaklawn Memorial Park, 421 W. Sierra Ave., Oakdale.
