Arlene J. Carpenter passed away Saturday night August 20, 2016 at the Oak Valley Care Center surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Patterson to Albert and Hilma Agadoni. She met her lifelong love Howard Carpenter during his milk truck deliveries in Patterson. They moved to Oakdale for Dad’s grocery business where they raised their family. Mom and Dad were married for 62 years before his death in 2011. Mom worked for the Oakdale Veterinary Hospital for over 40 years. She had an immense love for all animals. She often brought the hospitalized animals special food and bedding to comfort them. She never let a stray cat or dog go hungry. Mom also had a passion for Bingo. She made many friends around the Bingo table. She was often a big winner much to her delight. She was also a long time member and very active with the Oakdale Soroptimist Club. Arlene leaves behind a brother Clay Agadoni of Laguna Niguel, daughter Linda Welch (Bill) of Modesto, son Russ Carpenter (Shelly) of Oakdale, grandchildren Melisa Carpenter (Charlie) of Oakdale, Charla Welch of Austin Tx, great grandchildren Mary Beth Carpenter, Wyatt and Emma all of Oakdale. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard Carpenter, sister Winifred Burke and grandson Jacob. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday August 25, 2016 at the Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Burial will be on Friday August 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Patterson Cemetery, 10800 Highway 33 Patterson.
Mom and Dad are resting together, eternally.
