Allen Anthony ‘Tony’ Silveira, 69, died on Tuesday, April 9 in Merced, passing due to Alzheimers.

Born on Nov. 27, 1943, he graduated from Escalon High School in 1962 and proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.

He retired from Foster Farms after a 30-plus year career.

He and his wife Barbara enjoyed fishing and traveling and time spent with friends. Tony was an avid runner. He loved his family and the time they spent together. Holidays were always special and every birthday a celebration.

Survivors include his children, daughter Terri (Walt) Stinson of Merced, sons Steve (Jennifer) Bookout of Oakdale and Chris Silveira of Modesto; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; father Frank Silveira of Escalon; and sister Janet (Del) Choate of Modesto.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and his mother, Lillian.

A memorial service and burial were held Monday, April 15 at Lakewood Memorial Park.
