Aletia Copin (66) passed from this world peacefully at her home with her loving family surrounding her, following a short illness. She is survived by her children Paul Lewis Jr. (Bonnie), and Christine Lawson (Damian), Grandchildren Patrick, Sean and Sarah Lawson, Sister Avis McGinnis, Brothers Arnold Jr. and Arthur Webb, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Tom Copin.
Aletia was a life-long resident of Oakdale. Over her years of employment, she worked for: Hershey’s, Riverbank Cheese Factory, Beacon, K-mart in Oakdale, and Dollar Tree in Riverbank.
Always known as fun loving, spontaneous, generous, and forgiving, she had a special laughter that made everyone around her smile. She was happiest giving, helping and loving the people in her life. She could create a feast of a meal at a moment’s notice for family and their friends, and many enjoyed time spent in her home. Aletia was known as Grandma (Gma) to many friends of her grandchildren.
She urged her family to live their life and enjoy it fully – as she has.
Aletia will be missed dearly by all that knew her and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in her memory to Optimal Hospice In-Home Care.
