The Valley Home Hawks welcomed the Knights Ferry football and volleyball teams this past Friday. Both teams played great and had a great time. Once again Mr. Mike had the field looking great even adding red, white and blue in the end zones. Valley Home would like to thank Knights Ferry for making the trip to play the Hawks. We certainly need to mention the super snack bar run by school staff. It’s amazing how many hats one must wear in a small school setting. The day would not have happened without the great coaches from both schools...a HUGE thank you to both sets of coaches!

The VH MAC met last week and was very pleased to have our county superintendent, CHP, Fire and VH School Superintendent all present. There was discussion on the Symbiosis gathering at Woodward Reservoir. There were comments pro and con, but an appreciation of a peaceful gathering was common among all in attendance. CHP gave a report that had at least 5 DUI in the area of VH. In response to a question from a resident, Fire reported that a fire on the river bottom was not set by any of the symbiosis goers, but rather a person dumping grass clippings in that area for a very long time!

VH students were treated to a BMX rally last Thursday. The kids were excited by all the tricks and stunt riding they saw.

Last weekend the Mullins and Heaton families had a wonderful visit from Chico State student Jordan McCain, this weekend they were excited to have a surprise visit from good friend Austin Dickens who is attending Cal Poly. Austin is really enjoying college life, and has become good friends with all his roommates!

Our Valley Home school invites everyone to join in the fun of our annual Fall Harvest Festival. The excitement will start at 5:00 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 26 and runs through 9:00 p.m.
The fun will include ‘The World’s Smallest “real” Haunted House,’ Pee Wee the baby donkey, pumpkin carving and decorated pumpkin contest (must be carved or decorated at home), Super fun games, delicious food, silent auction, pumpkin patch, a haunted cemetery and hay ride and so, so much more! Fun for all ages at the Fall Harvest Festival!
