The Valley Home Hawks volleyball and football teams were all in action this past Friday. All teams did very well, everyone played hard, and everyone including the spectators had a great time. Special thanks to our coaches and a huge thank you to custodian Mike for getting the field ready for game day. The football players were especially proud of the Valley Home Hawk that Mr. Mike painted on the playing field!

Scarecrows are appearing all around Valley Home as the Fall Harvest Festival approaches! Saturday, Oct. 26 is the big day. The Harvest Festival will kick off at 5:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m. Rumor has it that there is a gigantic pumpkin making its way from Lone Tree Road to the Harvest Festival Giant Pumpkin Contest. WOW are we excited! Remember to decorate and carve your pumpkins at home to enter in the Decorated Pumpkin and Carved Pumpkin Contest. We also hear that Sidney the silly pumpkin is entering the decorated contest this year, his first try for a win! Good luck Sidney. The record setting smallest Haunted House will welcome little folks at the Haynes Family pumpkin patch. The famed Silent Auction will once again have a huge array of items...some wonderful surprises are going to be up for bid! The Haunted Cemetery is already coming alive...or shall we say dead in a secret location in Valley Home. Face painting by Angela will be a highlight of the festival fun. Tons of games, delicious food, sno-cones, cotton candy and magical drinks will welcome festival goers. We invite everyone to visit Valley Home on Saturday, Oct. 26 - what fun we will have!

The Heaton and Mullins families were excited by a surprise visit from good friend Jordan McCain. Jordan was home from Chico State for the weekend and visited several friends during his stay. Although he really likes Chico, he was glad to come home for a visit...he said it just really felt good to be back in Valley Home.

Happy news to report as Kristi Short and her fiancé Joe announced their engagement. Kristi has been teaching in Washington State and has recently returned to the area and is now teaching at Enochs High. Congratulations Kristi and Joe.

Valley Home MAC meeting will be held tonight, Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the park - in case of cold or rainy weather we will meet in the school library. Everyone is welcome to attend!
