Time is fast approaching for our traditional Christmas in Valley Home with the sparkling Lighted Parade, Tree Lighting, Santa’s Corner, Community Potluck and Bake Sale. Everyone is invited to participate in the festivities, so grab a pen and mark Saturday, December 10th on your calendars and plan to attend. Bring your family, friends and neighbors to the Valley Home old fashioned Christmas celebration. The much anticipated event is sponsored by our Valley Home 4-H Club.
The evening will start at 5:30 p.m. with the sparkling lights of the Christmas Parade winding its way through downtown Valley Home! Best viewing will be at the old school on Texas Avenue. While waiting to enjoy the parade you are invited to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate served by 4-H members to ward off the evening chill. For comfort, please bring your own chair and just sit back and enjoy the colorful parade!
Immediately following the parade, everyone is invited to visit the Valley Home Park where our beautiful Community Christmas Tree will be lit. Hundreds of glittering lights will light up the night sky! Following the tree lighting, the school gym doors will open to welcome everyone to our community potluck dinner. The 4-H’ers are asking everyone bring a dish to share. The 4-H will provide the turkey, ham, plates, cups, silverware and Christmas drinks, along with the coffee and hot apple cider during dinner. Santa’s Corner will come alive with jolly Ol’ Santa and his merry elves spreading Christmas cheer to all! A special Holiday treat this year will be beautifully decorated goodies for sale after dinner!
We encourage everyone to create an entry and enter the Christmas parade. It can be a decorated bicycle, wagon or car, or perhaps a pretty float…anything safe and in good taste! Please remember an ADULT must be with each entry at all times! Entries can be dropped off at the Valley Home School, The General Store or at 12501 Valley Home Road. Any questions, please call club president Jenna Heaton at 848-0378. Entries are due by Tuesday, December 6th!

In keeping up with activities, we remind everyone that the December PTC meeting is Thursday, December 1st at 3:00 p.m. in Room 4 at the Texas Ave. campus. Babysitting is available. The Gold Canyon fundraiser ends on November 30th. All monies raised will fund field trips and any unused monies will carry over year to year for each grade/class so that field trips such as Asilomar and the 8th grade State Capitol are possible.
Sees Candy fund raiser is ongoing as well and ends Friday, December 2nd. Monies raised will also fund field trips for this school year.
Valley Home Hawks are assisting the Valley Home 4-H and are participating in the canned food drive. Donations are being accepted in each classroom. Box Tops collections are ongoing as well!
The Carpenters are busy preparing for our annual Christmas Store which will be open for business December 13th-15th. If you are interested in volunteering a few hours to help with this fun event for our students, please Email ValleyHomePTC@gmail.com. The PTC Pancake Breakfast will be Saturday, January 7th, 6:00-10:30 a.m. in the MPR.
Miss V.’s first graders have retained Mo-Hawk the past few weeks in our school spirit contest, congratulations to them! The Kindergarteners promise to offer some tough competition however, they want Mo-Hawk back in their room.

The Osmundsons had 3 out of 4 families of kids home for Thanksgiving dinner for the usual turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and veggies. We were glad the rain let up so the children could play outside for a short while. We had Gary and Amy Osmundson with Deanna, Beau, Brock, Nicolle and Zotan Palffy with Julia and Finn, and Greg and Marisol Osmundson with Amanda, Alicia and Alejandro. A wonderful day!
