Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade all enjoyed field trips this past week. Previously, 5th-8th grade traveled to San Francisco to visit the Planetarium in Golden Gate Park. The field trips were funded by our Valley Home PTC through their fundraising efforts with See’s Candy and Gold Canyon Candle sales. A big Thank You to our parents and community for your support to make these extra enrichment activities possible.

Members of the Oak Valley Art Society enjoyed an opportunity to display their paintings at a special showing held on the grounds of the Oakdale Cheese Factory. The weather was beautiful and the setting was lovely. Society president, Glenn Burghardt presided over a very short business meeting giving members an opportunity to just relax and enjoy the setting and get their paintings displayed for the public to enjoy.
The event also offered your reporter an opportunity to enjoy a fun trip back in time with a ride in a beautiful and lovingly restored 1955 Studebaker Champion Sedan, belonging to Stanley MacArthur, and his wife, OVAS member, Donna MacArthur.
