It is that time of year once again when our Valley Home students are stretching their legs and toning up their muscles for the school annual Jog-a-Thon on Thursday, March 28th. Students are decorating their own T-shirts again this year. We have received word that prizes will be awarded for the best T-shirt design for both K-3 and 4 thru 8. Additional contests and prizes will also be awarded. Just a reminder that Spring break begins Friday!

Oh, my goodness, there goes that mysterious Bunny hopping by again! Can you believe it, he is carrying a big basket of brightly colored eggs! "Hold on there, Rabbit, where are you heading? What is that you say? You are getting set to help our Valley Home 4-H members with their Annual Easter Egg Hunt being held on the grounds of the Texas Avenue school campus! My goodness, that sounds like a lot of fun! I'll see you there Mr. Bunny!" We are delighted to pass on Mr. Bunny's message, Valley Home 4-H members join in asking you to join them at the Valley Home Community Annual Easter Egg Hunt, on this coming Saturday, March 30th. The Hunt will begin at 10:00 a.m. SHARP! Hundreds of colorful eggs will be hidden and there will be tons of prizes given away. Everyone is welcome to attend this fun event. Hope to see you all there.

Nancy Osmundson offers us an early reminder that the next MAC meeting will be held on Thursday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m. Be sure to mark your calendar and plan to attend the meeting. Meetings are held in the Valley Home School Library located on the Pioneer Avenue campus. These meetings are important and help to keep residents up to date on current items of interest to Valley Home residents. MAC chairman, Nancy Osmundson encourages people to come out and hear reports about the Rural Fire Dept, as well as the Sheriff, CHP and Public Works.

We have received word that Cody and Cooper Bartholomew exhibited their poultry at the Stanislaus County Youth Poultry Show held at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds and both did very well, earning many 1st place ribbons and even best of breed and best of variety for their pencil neck runners and New Hampshire chickens that Cody hatched out himself. Congratulations to both Cody and Cooper on winning all those ribbons, we are all proud of your winnings.

We hope that the Valley Home 4-H Fund Raiser Dinner was successful. Your reporter was unable to attend because of illness, however I did contact the chairman so that I could report on the dinner immediately following the event. I cannot report on the success of the event, because I have never received a report. I am well aware of the hard work that goes into planning and hosting these events and believe the workers should receive the credit that is due them.

The Oak Valley Art Society drop in art class with Escalon artist, Dorothy Girling, is scheduled for Saturday, March 30th at the Escalon Library. Watercolor technique will be the subject of the class.
