One of the highlights of the school year for our Valley Home students is the fun and enjoyment of shopping at the PTC sponsored Holiday Store. The store has become a traditional and enjoyable and a most anticipated event at Valley Home School for many years thanks to the hard work of our PTC members. These hard working volunteers provide a variety of gift items for a nominal price in this special Christmas Store giving our students a wonderful opportunity to select and purchase that special gift for their family members. Thank you Melissa, Shelly, Kathy, Darlene and all of the volunteers who made this wonderful opportunity possible for our students.
Valley Home students enjoyed their class parties and Santa even took time from his busy schedule to make an appearance and read a story to the Kindergartners. We received word that the After School Program’s Winter Performance was very entertaining and offered a great way to kick off Winter Break! The next fun event coming up on our Valley Home calendar is the Pancake Breakfast sponsored by our Valley Home School PTC scheduled for Saturday, January 7th from 6-11 a.m. The event will be held in the Gym/MPR on the Pioneer Avenue Campus. Tickets are priced at $3 for children and $7 for adults. Give our chairperson Lisa Jones a call at 840-3178 to request yours today.
Lisa asks “Can you use a little more business? Would you like to drum up some locals to come and see what you have to offer? We have a great solution at a wonderful price! We will have placemats at the Pancake Breakfast and our Bunko Night to be held in March 2012. Business card ads are $30 for the Pancake Breakfast mats or save and get both events for only $50…Call and reserve your spot today at 847-3178, these spots always fill up quick!

The results of the December 17th Christmas Bake Sale sponsored by our 4H’ers held at Tractor Supply in Oakdale was a great success. There were lots of goodies and beautiful flower arrangements. A big thanks to everyone that volunteered, donated items and supported them. A Big Thanks to Tractor Supply as well.

Saturday also found several 4-H’ers attending the Zoo Lights at Micke Grove Zoo organized by Halley Smith and attended by Tammy and Ron Smith. Also accompanying Halley were the Berrettos, Bryhnis, Carpenters and Woecheres. After the zoo MaryBeth, Wyatt, Emma, Shelly, Kathy, Garrett, Ashley, Tyler, Christina and Emily went out to dinner in Lodi. They had a wonderful time. The group had a great time on the carriage ride and singing Christmas Carols!

If you did not take time to drive through our Valley Home community and view the Christmas lights and decorations this year you missed one of the prettiest light shows offered by our friends and neighbors in several years. There were more lighting displays than ever before and the show truly offered a wonderful prelude to the Holidays.
