Remember tonight is our MAC meeting, 6:30 p.m. at the school. A perfect time to ask questions and get tons of information! Tonight we will also be discussing our Valley Home “National Night Out” celebration. The “Get Rid of Crime” evening encourages us to come out and get to know our neighbors. More information to come!

Also very important is our upcoming Valley Home Community Park Yard Sale! Remember to mark Saturday August 8th on your calendar. New this year will be delicious tri-tip sandwiches, frosty cold drinks, and snacks for sale. It’s sure to be a great time for all! As a tribute to the many people who years ago gave so much to make this piece of land a wonderful legacy for all to enjoy ... we write the following! In 1913, delight in the growing community, prompted William McLaughhin and John Soehl to offer three city blocks for a social hall. On August 12, 1913 the doors opened to the newly built Thalheim Social Hall! Over the years this historic building would witness school graduations, plays, town meetings, dances, talent shows, homecoming activities, weddings and receptions, dinners, carnivals, 4-H meetings and more! As with all good things, time extended a toll, and today in our beautiful historical community centers place we have a lovely community park for all to use and enjoy! The park is owned equally by each of us in our Valley Home Community. It is maintained currently by volunteer help; from caring community members. There is always more help needed and would be most appreciated! On Saturday August 8th once again we will come together to raise funds to maintain the park (taxes, insurance, PG&E, etc.). Please consider helping by donating items to the community yard sale. Arrangements for drop off can be made by calling me, Winnie, at 985-5233. More information can be found on the Facebook page, Valley Home Community Park.
