Another year has gone by and for many of us 2014 brought changes good and bad into our lives. For some the joy and happiness of a wonderful event, for others the past year brought sorrow and heartbreaking sadness. Over the years I’ve come to realize that there are definitely “seasons” throughout our lives. It has taken me a lifetime to understand that truly my life has had many different seasons. I look back on the season of my youth, of marriage and family, softball, football, cheerleading, rodeo events, our family would also see family and friends off to war...seasons of great sadness and seasons of great joy would follow. As our grandchildren came along we once again enjoyed a different season in our life...this season would be filled with 4-H and FFA, rabbit, goat, poultry and swine shows, lots of travel and once again football as the high school mascot would be a season in our life. During this time our community campaigned and worked hard to get our new Valley Home Fire Station built and opened! Our community also worked hard together to get our school gym built, next we would all work together on our community center project, which ultimately would become our community park that we all enjoy so much today! During these many seasons of a lifetime, wonderful friendships have been made, rewards have come, defeats have been accepted, wins and losses have come our way, overall we have been blessed greatly during the seasons of our life. As “2015” comes in, I hope the seasons of your life will be filled with tremendous success and much joy! Tonight, New Year’s Eve, our family will celebrate grandson Cooper Bartholomew’s eighth birthday! We’ve been cutting up confetti all week, stocking up on sparkling cider, noise makers and digging out our copy of “Auld Lang Syne.” What a great night it will be. Happy Birthday Cooper!
