Valley Home News 5-10-23

This week we remember a great Valley Home man. For those of you who knew Jimmy Bradford, you know that he considered you a dear friend. Jimmy was easy-going, he loved living life to the fullest. He enjoyed raising cattle on his ranch in Valley Home. No matter what he did or what adventure he was on, Jimmy was always a truck driver at heart! Jimmy had a beautiful ranch here in Valley Home. He had worked hard all his life; he loved watching his cattle as they grazed in a pasture of tall green clover. One minute he would be watching his cattle graze peacefully along the little creek that flowed through his ranch, the next minute he would be helping out a neighbor. Another of Jimmy’s favorite pastimes was riding his prized Harley Davidson motorcycle! He loved to take long drives on his bike. I remember my husband and I being surprised many times by Jimmy rolling up on that beautiful bike. He loved coming to the ice cream parlor in Knights Ferry when we were running it many years ago. In the summertime we would keep the doors wide open, it was always a fun time when we would see Jimmy pull up. Jimmy always parked near the side entrance to the ice cream parlor, the side street between the ice cream parlor and the general store.

As a very young man, Jimmy had taught his brother-in-law Jeff Keaster (my brother) to drive a diesel truck. This would be Jeff’s chosen career for the rest of his life … thank you Jimmy! Jimmy was a skilled and amazing teacher. He enjoyed his many years as a truck driver, retiring from Maxim Crane on Mariposa Road after a long and dedicated career. Within the past few years Jimmy sold his cherished cattle ranch in Valley Home and moved to the beautiful state of Montana. In Montana, Jimmy enjoyed his dream home before becoming ill.

Jimmy was born the first son of Connie and Jim Bradford in Heber Springs, Arkansas on March 11, 1947. Jimmy passed away on March 13, 2023 at the age of 76 years. Jimmy is survived by his loving mother Connie Bradford, three beloved sons, two precious sisters, one dear brother and many beloved family members. All are invited to attend services for Jimmy this Saturday, May 13 at 1 p.m. at Parkview Cemetery 3661 E. French Camp Road. Rest in Heavenly Peace, Jimmy.
