We have an update on the condition of a very special young man, Valley Home’s Cody Fleischer who was severely injured in a roll over Jeep accident. Cody’s mom Cindy gave us an update this past weekend...actually it was day 13 after 12 days in ICU. He is now at Kaiser in South Sacramento where he was transferred. He will be at Kaiser for the next 10 give or take a few days if all goes as they believe it will. He will then get to come home with a home nurse and PT. He will have the nurse and PT for several weeks to months. But they do feel that this will lead to 100 percent recovery, even walking on that right leg again (which was something he was told might not happen). All the doctors have said to him that he must have a “damn good guardian angel” to be doing as well as he is. His spirits are up and he is fighting to get out sooner rather than later.

Keep up the fighting spirit Cody. Everyone here in Valley Home is thinking of you and we are so happy you are on your way to a full recovery.

The Valley Home MAC meeting was well attended. I apologize for the wrong date, the meeting was last Wednesday, not today! County Supervisor Bill O’Brien and Aaron Farnon reported on an exciting program “Focus on Prevention.” The program has several important parts to it, more information can be had by emailing farnona@stancounty.com.

As we end this week’s column we sadly report the passing of our dear friend Viola Nobbe. Viola worked for the Valley Home School district for 29 years. Viola was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
